Rheem: World leader in the production of air conditioners and water heaters

Founded in 1925, the company is a leader in the production of air conditioners and water heaters. Its origins date back to when its founders, the brothers Richard and Donald Rheem, acquired a galvanizing plant in San Francisco, California.

In the 1930s, it began manufacturing water heaters and by 1936, it had coast-to-coast distribution in the United States.

In the 40s and 50s, the company increased its product line to include space heating units for homes, oil furnaces and air conditioners.

In 1959, it acquired Ruud Rheem Manufacturing Company, a pioneer in the water heating industry with an established product line and distribution network throughout North America.

In the following years, the company entered the heating and air conditioning market, expanding in the 1960s and 1970s due to the rapid growth of the central air conditioning industry.

Today, it is an industry leader in providing total heating, cooling and water heating solutions.

The company is also a global brand with a range of products covering residential and commercial heating, cooling, conventional and hybrid storage water heaters, tankless water heaters, solar water heating systems, hydraulic and geothermal systems, indoor air quality accessories, domestic air conditioning, commercial cooling and replacement parts for all categories, making the company a truly unique provider of air and water solutions.

All Rheem products meet rigorous industry standards and regulations. From design, manufacture, and assembly of the finished product, each phase is controlled and measured to ensure the highest quality, durability, and operational excellence.

Similarly, products are tested and certified by various government and third-party laboratories to ensure quality standards, which is why all manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001 certified.

The company is based in Atlanta, Georgia with production plants in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Montgomery, Alabama, Oxnard, California, Eagan, Minnesota and since 1990 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and a second plant in Mexicali, Baja California.

It also has an international presence in 75 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, China, Singapore, Canada, Argentina and Brazil.
