Caterpillar México: el gigante de la construcción

Caterpillar es el fabricante de maquinaria para construcción, equipos de minería, motores diésel y turbinas industriales de gas más grande del mundo y sí, también tiene sedes ubicadas en México. Una de ellas, se encuentra en Oradel Industrial Center, en Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, con la cual ha entablado una relación cooperativa de crecimiento y éxito.

Caterpillar México comenzó sus operaciones en el país con su predecesor Holt Manufacturing Company, la cual vendió su primer producto en nuestro país en 1897. Desde entonces ha permanecido y crecido con diferentes operaciones en varios puntos de México.

Caterpillar, un gigante en México

Holt Manufacturing fue el primer acercamiento con este gigante, sin embargo, la primera operación de manufactura de Caterpillar en México fue inaugurada en 1962.  Actualmente, existen diferentes centros operativos que se encargan de distribución, remanufactura, operaciones en mineras, construcción de carreteras, construcción en general, petróleo, gas y energía. Incluso su división Solar Turbines que ofrece soluciones energéticas tiene presencia en el país.

México y su relación con Caterpillar

En México, Caterpillar cuenta con más de 10 mil empleados, los cuales sobresalen por su responsabilidad y compromiso con la compañía, así como con el cuidado del medio ambiente y la manufactura de productos de alta calidad. Con ellos, la compañía ha demostrado su compromiso con la sustentabilidad a través de grandes inversiones y horas de voluntariado. Sus locaciones principales se encuentran en San Luis Potosí con distribución de partes mecánicas y manufactura, en Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila con componentes de maquinaria, en Torreón, Acuña, Monterrey, Reynosa y Tijuana también tiene centros de manufactura y en Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas cuenta con la división de remanufactura, que el año pasado, cumplió 30 años en dicha ciudad.

Caterpillar is the world’s largest manufacturer of construction machinery, mining equipment, diesel engines and industrial gas turbines. Caterpillar has several facilities throughout Mexico and one of its principal operations is located in Oradel Industrial Center.

Caterpillar Mexico began operations in the country with its predecessor Holt Manufacturing Company, which sold its first product in our country in 1897. Since then it has continued and expanded with different operations in various locations. Caterpillar has established a successful and growing cooperative relationship in its plants in Mexico, specially in its operation in Nuevo Laredo.
